English in Action

On March, 3rd 2008 we came to school like every other day, but something was different. All the studenst werde very excited because that week „English in Action“ would take place. In our first lesson we got to know Lynn. She lives in Dawlish, a town in Devon. She was our first „teacher“ for that week. The second Native speaker, we got to kno was Spike, who is from the north of Britain.

During our projekt week we talked about youth tribes, youth centres , about the Brithis salng ans so on, in English of course. Every day in the 5th lesson we had our „projekt- lesson“ in which we prepared a little presentatio. I did this presentation with Srar and Theresa. We talked about the royal family. It was really interesting to learn something about Britain´s history. In the 6th lesson we worked on a sketch. At first it was quite difficult to find the right things for us but the we decided to make a celebrity- talkshow with stars like Ni´cole Kidman, Lauran Graham and George Clooney. I think it was very funny to practise it.

On friday we presented our projekts and sketches to our parents. For instance there were projekts on „the Beatles, Heath Ledger and Kathrin Heigl“, but we didn´t have enough time to present all of them. We also performed our sketches and at last we got our certificates. I think it was great fun and we learn a lott about Britain and the English language.
